For the opening of our studio in sunny Santa Monica we designed a custom work desk taylor fit to our growing spacial needs. There is a low profile shelf floating directly beneath the main work surface that adds significant storage without the need for doors, drawers or complex mechanisms.
It’s perfect for storing a few go to design books or a spare laptop. Anything that you may need to access regularly and don’t want getting buried or lost in the clutter.

The desk is finished in a white semi-gloss to keep
the space feeling light and modern. We left the
edges of the desk a natural wood finish to highlight
the planar design and clean construction.
This simple construction leverages planes of
plywood, which helps keep the design cost efficient,
while maintaining a sufficiently high perceived value.
